These acres, and neighboring farms, are in the Sammamish Valley APD. Background: In efforts to protect the agricultural economy within the Sammamish Valley, King County created the Farmland Preservation Program, resulting in designating five Agricultural Production Districts (APD’s) of which the Sammamish Valley was the first priority. This APD is the smallest with approximately 1,000 acres located along the Sammamish River bordered by the Cities of Woodinville, Redmond and Kirkland, in unincorporated King County.

Viva Farms King County is in the Sammamish Valley on the urban fringe of the greater Seattle metropolitan area. Like our original Skagit Valley farm business incubator, the Woodinville site offers land, equipment, infrastructure and training for beginning farmers to launch independent farm businesses. The urban incubator is comprised of smaller-scale and more intensive farming operations that reflect the location of the site and proximity to a larger urban center.

Sammamish Farms delivers to kitchens of all sizes across North King and South Snohomish Counties. Our primary program is a subscription delivery service to homes featuring produce from our farm and other products we make and collaborate on including pickles, sauces, baked goods, honey, and more.
